Relationship Between Academic Reading and Student Writing

This research was conducted for two years in advanced and intermediate level academic reading courses. Writing was an integral part of all lessons and the students' writing was collected from two year-long courses. (Read proposal - pdf format)

Motivation of Israeli English Majors

First and second year English majors (all native Hebrew speakers) were interviewed concerning their motivation and achievement in studying English. Each interview lasted between a half hour to one and a half hours, and half of the students were interviewed during both their first and second years. (Read proposal - pdf format)

A Literature-Based Program for At-Risk Students

A program using a literature-based approach to reading and writing was developed for at-risk middle school students. The program included literature circles, class discussions, and journal writing. Computers were used by the students for essay writing. (Read report - pdf format)
